EIHO Aqua Blue: The Reliable Shield Against External Parasites and Gills Disease

EIHO Aqua Blue is a specialized, dual-action formula designed to target and eliminate a wide range of external ailments that commonly plague home aquaria. It is specifically formulated to treat gill and skin diseases caused by harmful bacteria like Pseudomonas and common parasites such as Chilodonella. Whether you are keeping a freshwater community, a massive Koi pond, or a high-end Arowana tank, this treatment acts as a versatile safety net for your livestock.

This reliable solution is particularly effective for fish that have recently undergone the stress of transportation or have been kept in suboptimal water conditions where NH3 (Ammonia) or NO2 (Nitrite) levels may have spiked. By combining antibacterial and anti-parasitic properties into one bottle, Aqua Blue simplifies the recovery process, ensuring your fish can breathe easily and heal their skin without the harsh stress often associated with aggressive chemical treatments.

Why You Need This

We’ve all been there—you look at your tank and notice something just isn't right. Aqua Blue is designed to step in when you see these common "red flags":

  • Labored Breathing: If your fish are huddling near the surface or the filter outlet gasping for air, their gills may be under attack by Dactylogyrus (gill flukes) or bacteria.

  • The "Scratch": When fish flash or rub their bodies against rocks and decor, they are trying to dislodge irritating external parasites.

  • Cloudy Skin or White Slime: A visible thickening of the natural mucus coat is a sign the fish’s immune system is fighting an external invader.

  • Redness and Scale Loss: Visible inflammation or patches where scales are shedding often indicate a secondary bacterial infection like Pseudomonas taking hold.

  • Restlessness: If your fish are darting around or, conversely, grouping nervously in a corner, they are likely feeling the "itch" of microscopic pests.

Instructions

Treating your tank doesn't have to be a chemistry experiment. Here is the straightforward way to get your aquatic friends back to health:

  1. Prep your tank: Before adding anything, remove any activated carbon or chemical resins from your filter, as these will "soak up" the medication before it can work. Turn off your UV sterilizers as well.

  2. Add the med: Shake the bottle well. Add 1 capful (5ml) of Aqua Blue for every 50 liters of aquarium water.

  3. Monitor and Wait: Let the medication work its magic. If you don't see a significant improvement by the third day, perform a 50% water change and add a second full dosage.

  4. Quarantine & Prevention: For new arrivals, use a lighter dose of 5ml per 100 liters every 10 days to ensure no "hitchhikers" enter your main display.

Expert Tip: Whenever you are treating for gill issues, oxygen is your best friend. Medications can sometimes slightly reduce the dissolved oxygen in the water, and infected gills are already struggling. Drop in an extra air stone or slightly lower your water level to create more surface agitation—it makes a world of difference for a recovering fish!

Can I use this with shrimp, snails and scaleless fishes

EThis formula is highly effective against parasites, which means it is unsuitable for sensitive invertebrates like ornamental shrimp or "pest" snails. Will this turn my aquarium water blue?

You will notice a temporary blue tint in the water upon dosing—don't worry, that's perfectly normal! The color will dissipate over time and can be completely removed with a water change and the reinsertion of activated carbon once the treatment is finished.

Does this affect my biological filter?

Aqua Blue is designed to be tough on external pathogens while remaining gentle on your beneficial Nitrosomonas and Nitrobacter colonies. However, always keep an eye on your NH_3 levels during any medication cycle just to be safe.
